Detail Itinerary

Day 01, Mumbai - Goa :After arriving in Mumbai, by 03:00 PM, get ready to check in at "The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai" for completing check in formalities and registration for the Maharajas' Express. Following which, you will move toward the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, your arrival at "Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai" marks the beginning of an observational journey that will make you a storyteller, enjoy a grand traditional greeting with a welcome drink to the reception area by the crew of Maharaja Express and our tour manager. Later this, around 05:15 PM, you will be leaving for " Goa" which is followed by delicious on-board dinner in the Maharaja dining cars - cum- restaurants named "Mayur Mahal" and "Rang Mahal". Overnight's stay at regal Maharajas Express cabins.

Day 02, Goa: On second day train arrived on Goa. Today, after relishing on-board breakfast, embark in the amazing sightseeing tour of Goa and explore some of the most popular tourist spots of the region with the beautiful views. Visit the famous church or UNESCO World Heritage Site "Basilica de Bom Jesus", a unique example of Baroque architecture boasts for the tomb and mortal remains of "Saint Francis Xavier", founder of the Society of Jesus. Later make it to "Se Cathedral", just opposite to the Basilica de Bom Jesus is one of the most ancient and biggest Catholic Church in Asia and last but not least "Walking tour of Old Town Panaji (Panjim)" will offer you a superb introduction to what this town is about. Get a feel of the Portuguese influence by roaming through its terraced hills, cobbled streets, churches and old mansions in the districts of Fontainhas and Sao Tome. Post this, have on-board lunch and around 3:45 PM, proceed to enjoy an exclusive Goan evening of "Carnival Music" which is followed by dinner at a unique venue. Enroot you will explore "Goa Chitra Museum", Goa's first and only ethnographic museum which display a rare collection of original farming tools, pottery, musical instruments, carts and palanquins depicting the growth of civilization in Goa. Overnight's stay at regal Maharajas Express cabins.

Day 03, Goa - Hampi: Enjoy early morning on-board breakfast and proceed to "Hampi". Arrive Hospet Railway Station. Get down from the train and proceed to enjoy the picturesque ride through hills and halt at "Anegudi Village", a village complimented with an inspiring landscape, rich natural heritage and many mythological treasures surely worth your visit; here interact with the locals and know more about their lives and cultures or you may also choose for a rejuvenating spa session at one of the major premium hotels in Hospet! Return back to to the comforts of Maharajasâm Express. Remember your lunch and dinner shall be served on-board. Overnight stay at the Maharajas' Express.

Day 04, Hampi: Have an appetizing on-board breakfast and get down to explore the famous sightseeing of UNESCO World Heritage Site Hampi. Major sightseeing includes "Ganesha Statue", "Virupaksha Temple", "Narasimha Statute", "Elephant Stables" and the "Vittala Temple complex" (housing the Musical Pillars Temple and the Stone Chariot), no doubt a sojourn to Hampi will give you not a complete picture of Hampi, present and past but it shows you about the hugely developed Dravidian architectural style of the Vijayanagar empire. Later head back to the train for on-board lunch as the Maharajas' Express leave for the next destination "Mysore". Dinner shall be served on-board. Overnight you will stay at Maharajas Express cabins.

Day 05, Mysore: Today, after on-board breakfast, you will embark on a tour of the city of "Mysore" to witness sight like "Mysore Palace". A royal residence of the powerful Wodeyar rulers is a wonderful example of gilded opulence with Dravidian, European and Roman architectural influences will surely leave you bedazzle. Post this enjoys a hot and sumptuous lunch at "Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel", following which you will go to "Shreerangapatnam- The capital of Tipu Sultan" or you may return to the comforts of Maharajas' Express. Conclude the day by unwinding in Maharaja Express, on-board dinner and leaves for the Queen of the Arabian Sea, "Ernakulum/Cochin".

Day 06, Cochin : Today morning, after having your on-board breakfast and lunch, around 02:15 PM. Get ready for a short but amazing Tuk Tuk ride to reach "Kumbalangi - Model fishing village near Kochi". This India's first designated ecotourism village offer plenty of interesting sights and activities to its visitors, no doubt its unique Chinese Fishing Nets in action. A traditional crab farm and a fascinating glimpse of the simple and prosperous livelihood of the villagers, age-old culture and heritage mesmerize you. By the advent of evening, enjoy South Indian traditional dance with relish South Indian food at an exclusive venue. Overnight stay at the Maharajas' Express.

Day 07, Kumarakom : Today, after on-board breakfast, you will be cruising on the famous backwaters of "Kumarakom" in a "Canoe Boat" that would offer you some wonderful sights like paddy fields, coconut lagoons and isolated islands. No doubt its interesting aspects of day to day life in the land as well as on water will mesmerize you with all their beauty and appeal. Afterwards enjoy a delicious lunch at an exclusive venue on the lakefront and witness one of the traditional water sports of Kerala "Snake Boat Race", a long traditional canoe style boat(100 to 120 feet long) used by the people of the Kuttanadu region and hold around 100 rowers truly amazed you. Later, move back to the comforts of Maharaja Express and conclude your day by an on-board dinner as to night only Maharaja Express leaves you for the next destination "Trivandrum".

Day 08, Disembark In Trivandrum : Waking up in the morning, stuff yourself with a last delicious on-board breakfast and then around 08:00 AM you will be dropped at "Kochuveli Railway station, Trivandrum".
